NorLevo is an emergency contraceptive pill (morning-after pill) containing Levonorgestrel (1.5 mg), a synthetic hormone that helps prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex or contraceptive failure (e.g., a broken condom).

How It Works:
Delays or prevents ovulation (release of an egg from the ovary).
Prevents fertilization by altering sperm movement.
Prevents implantation by changing the uterine lining (not effective if implantation has already occurred).
Dosage & Administration:
Take 1 tablet (1.5 mg) as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours but no later than 72 hours after unprotected sex.
If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, take another tablet immediately.
Effectiveness:
95% effective if taken within 24 hours.
85% effective if taken between 24-48 hours.
58% effective if taken between 48-72 hours.
Not effective after 72 hours.
